It’s sad to see Christians celebrate the fall of others. As Christians, we are to stand for what’s right but not be happy over the downfall of the ungodly or the deceived godly. With a posture of praying for our enemies and the saints, as they are out of the will and protection of God.
Have we forgotten that we are sinners saved by grace? Do we disregard that the enemy of their souls is the enemy of all souls (us included)? Are we not bothered by what bothers God (lost souls)? Especially the souls of those who should hear and obey His voice. Are we mocking others while making a mockery of ourselves?
We are to be holy. Seen as the light of the world, peacemakers, defenders of justice, standing against evil, not displaying evil characteristics ourselves. Are we showing the world the love of God, or are we bitter, evil, racist hiding behind a Christian label? Celebrating the fall of others should cause us to think about it.
