L L McAdoo Journey -Kingdom Damage Control

The body of Christ could focus more on kingdom building and less on damage control if we Christians connect to holiness before accepting leadership positions in ministry. Yes, we are all human and make mistakes. But if we are honest with ourselves some of us are more committed to sin than to the call, and this is a battle to resolve before moving forward into leadership.

The gifts and callings are without repentance, but that is not a pass to omit holiness. Being a disciple of God as a member of the body of Christ should precede answering the call on your life. While serving and assisting in kingdom building, we must make sure to seek counseling, deliverance, and holiness before starting in a leadership position. The attacks against an uncommitted leader are ruthless, the embarrassment is brutal, and the stain on one’s character is often unrecoverable. And these things are avoidable when the pursuit of holiness comes before the pursuit of the call. There is no need to rush because it all comes together in God’s timing.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, you are worthy of all praise. You have given us gifts and talents to share with the body of Christ. Please forgive us for prematurely accepting leadership roles without developing character and holiness to sustain the position. I ask that you continue to extend your grace and mercy to those of us that have accepted positions before committing to holiness babes. Resulting in being tormented by the enemy, hiding faults instead of confessing, and falling more and more away from our purpose. Holy Spirit please shine a spiritual spotlight and bring us to our knees with repentance so that we may receive forgiveness and restoration. Allow us to clean our hearts and lifestyles and become living witnesses before God and the people of God.

In Jesus name,

Amen
