Silence is less damaging than negativity. Words have the power of creation; remember in Genesis, God spoke the existence of many things. The same power lies within us; we are the image of God. If we can think in our hearts and it manifests, how much more power is in the things that we say?
As Christians and as disciples, we need to put a muzzle on our mouths. We can’t afford to allow our lips to spout off anything that comes to mind. Our good words create goodness, and our bad words create a mess. We need to make sure our words are being used for kingdom building and not fueling darkness. So, the next time we want to say something bad, let’s remember our creative power and choose silence.
